Hey Erin,

We have the feature to take your baby from not born to born, but for some reason we set it to only show after your predicted due date. We'll work on the code and get that fixed.

Hi -- Sorry if this is noted somewhere and I just can't find it. My baby was born this week and I'd like to change his book from "Due" to "Born" but can't find a way to do that. I've tried adjusting the due date in his profile, but that didn't seem to do it.

Thanks for your help!

Amazon have been working on this problem all day, and have now started bringing their US services back online. We're seeing photos and user pictures showing up again now, so we seem to be back online.

Sorry about that folks.

For anyone who is trying to access their books today (Sunday, July 20) and not seeing their photos, the reason is some downtime with our provider.

To allow for effectively unlimited storage, your photos are stored securely on a system called Amazon S3 (yes, it's provided by the Amazon.com!). Currently, they are experiencing issues with their network and so your images are not available. We've been told that they should be fully online within a few hours, and not to be concerned about losing any, as it's a connectivity issue rather than anything else (e.g. your photos are still there, we just can't currently access them).

I will post an update here once we hear more.

One more update on issues relating to posts not appearing in your books people:

I discovered a bug where for most of you, if you posted something in the future (with a date that hasn't happened yet), then it would never appear, even though it was supposed to appear after that date passed. This was related to the issue above (where if you timezone was incorrect, it looked like your posts weren't saving properly).

Hopefully this one is fixed now, so your posts should all appear. If not then please let us know!

Also, in the process of fixing this, it's possible/likely that a lot of you have a bunch of posts that you previously posted, which never appeared. Those posts have likely appeared on your books now (because they were stored away, waiting to post, and now have been published). Please go through your books and delete any doubled-up posts you don't want, and sorry if that's inconvenient.

Thanks again for your patience!

And as an update here for everyone else (talked with Karen and Martin via email):

It seems that if your timezone (under Account Options) is set incorrectly, or if you accidentally set the date/time of a post into the future, then it won't appear on your book until that date/time. This causes some confusion.

I'll look at changing that so that they will always show, even if they're dated into the future.

Thanks for your patience everyone!

Good news: both of these problems should be fixed now, so you can post a string of stories without overwriting each one, and you can update an existing Growth Chart entry as well.

Please let me know if you see anything else strange like this.

Also, I've noticed that if you publish a story, and then when it changes to "Choose some photos for a new story", if you click on this link it actually doesn't create a separate entry...it just adds the photos that you chose to the previous photos, and whatever title and comments you add will overwrite the previous entry.

I thought I was creating 5 separate stories, and when I went to view them in the book, the photos were all smashed into one entry with only the most recent title and comments.

I had sent an email about this last month, and it looks like it's still not working. If you edit a Growth Chart entry, it says it's posting your changes and then the changes aren't there.

You're not doing anything wrong there Doan. At the moment individual photos are limited to 4mb each, so it seems like you're over that.

I'll add a message to the uploader screens so that people know that before they get confused and angry! We're hoping to be able to increase that limit, but we also want to make sure that things are reliable, and bigger uploads sometimes cause problems with people on slower connections.

Here on the Forums, we're hoping that people will be able to find (and offer) help from each other. This is a place to get involved in the community side of MyBabyOurBaby and help out new-comers, or even seasoned-pros to get more out of their online books.

While you can always email us to get personalized support (support@mybabyourbaby.com), we'll also be actively participating in this specific forum, and really hope that you'll make use of it to ask questions and find out more about the site. If you ask here, rather than in an email, then everyone can immediately benefit from the solution we come up with.

If we find that we get a lot of similar questions, we'll also post answers to those in this forum so that everyone can find them.
