Hello everyone!

We know that you all have your own idea of what a site like this should be, and that's really what we're here for. We're hoping that you will help us to decide what we should be adding, improving, or perhaps even removing from MyBabyOurBaby as we grow and build it up. To that end, we hope you'll use this forum to suggest and discuss new ideas for the website. Here's a couple to get you started (feel free to discuss these in this forum as well!
- Video Uploads!
- iPhone/mobile phone access to your books
- Uploader application to upload heaps of photos at once
Now I'll leave it up to you to tell us all the things you'd love to see here, and we'll see what we can do about it!

Will you be incorporating a way to save sound? It would be fun to actually hear the babbles, first words, school speeches, personal accounts of events etc.

Adding a video/audio feature is definetely on the list of features to come. Don't know exactly when they'll be added, but we are planning to add something to handle the examples you stated.

is it possible to take a book off of your profile after you've added it? not a book you've created, one that you joined.

fyi: my first post "is it possible..." wasn't showing up here or on my home page. i posted the "test" message above and suddenly it showed up... there was about 43 minutes between the two posts....

Hi Jon, I haven't included the "delete" functionality for books yet, but once it's there, a "Book Admin" will be able to remove you from a book by going to the "Manage Friends & Family" and selecting "Remove from Book" (it's not there yet, but it will be!).

In the meantime, if you'd like to be removed from a book you may email support@mybabyourbaby.com and request it.

As for your problem of your posts not showing up immediately -- that is probably the "caching" system I enabled last night. There are still a few issues to work out with it, and it might make it look as though some pages haven't been updated (for up to 15 minutes or so, when in fact they have been. I'm working out the kinks on that so please bear with us :-)

what if ray has his kid on here, and i join in as a contributor, but then decided later that i've got too many kids on my dashboard and want to take ray's ugly kids off my page. I wouldn't want to ask him to take me off... would i be able to take myself off on my own without being the book owner or admin?

Hehehe well, that's a good point, but he would find out eventually, either through the Contributors page on his child's book, or through the Manage Friends & Family page for that child.

Hi Jeremy. That's something that we're considering, but we want to make sure it's secure, and that people will know how to use it before putting it out there. Unfortunately it's difficult to integrate the complete posting process (with photo uploads etc) with remote posting, because it's kind of a unique way of doing it right now.

One thing that might be cool would be to have a "magazine" type view option of the book, in which you can turn the pages by moving the mouse over it or clicking a next arrow.

Jeremy (Discovering Dad): That's an interesting one - we'll look into being able to do that either as a separate view, or perhaps as one of the theme options.

What sort of editing tools did you have in mind Sabrina? Or would you just like the Baby Profile page to use the same layout/design as the rest of your child's book?

The "Firsts" page should already look similar to other pages in your book (some Book Themes have slightly different designs for Firsts/Growth Chart though).

Also I thought of something else that has been frustrating me and that is the fact that I cannot add photos after I have published/posted a first, growth chart, etc. I have found that when I originally created some parts I was still learning the site and did not have all the pictures I wanted to add to the site and wanted to update/edit after I had published but the edit tool only allows for text editing and not adding photos.

I might be missing something and this functionality is already in place but I have been looking and not found a way to do this.

Just to make sure I'm clear with what you'd like. You're saying you want the "About You" paragraph on your daughter's profile, to show up on her book page? So rather than just seeing age, height, weight, and a photo you'd like the full description from her profile? Is that right?

And about your "Adding more photos after a post is live" you actual can do that. When you go to edit a post, under the area where you write a story, there is a green link that says "Upload More Photos". Once you click that it will slide you back up to the photo upload area.

Hope that helps, and let me know about the about you section, so I can see what we can do there.

I am sorry but I have looked all over the post editor and I cannot find a way to get back to the photo upload section. I looked for a green button and cannot find anything but a "save as draft" and "Publish" button. I am sure that it is there but I am not sure where.

Regarding the page: what I would like is that the theme (in my case Winnie the Pooh) is carried through to my home page so that when someone sees my homepage there is a continuation of the theme from the Book pages. It is not very important just an aesthetic thing.

I would like the ability to turn off reminders for the contributors to my book. I'd also like to be able to say that my baby has been born -- it's still stuck in due date mode, and he's over five weeks old!

Hi Erin, people should be able to turn off reminders themselves (once they're logged in, go to "Change Your Account Options" on your homepage, then Basics and Posting Reminders).

I've taken a look and have hopefully fixed the bug that has caused your baby (and a couple of others) to not be recognized as born yet, and I fixed yours up as well.
